A CREATIVE AND CHALLENGING ENVIRONMENT
Avtec was founded in 1980 by scientists and engineers from the Space Systems Division of the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C.. Seeking to recruit the most talented engineers, physicists and mathematicians, they found great people by offering a creative, self-managed and above all challenging environment that would bring out the best in each. That goal, leadership style and commitment are still in place today.

Over half hold advanced degrees, and we encourage further professional growth through continued education, conference participation, and publication in peer-reviewed journals.

SERVING OUR COMMUNITY
Avtec is a company that cares. We support a variety of civic and community service programs through our employee-directed contributions, donations, and personal involvement. Our involvement in the communities in which we live and work strengthens our relationships with those communities. Guided by the recommendations of our employees, Avtec's support of organizations like Suited for Change, Special Olympics Virginia, Johns Hopkins Child Life Department, and Toys for Tots includes both financial donations and employee volunteerism.

To demonstrate our further commitment to our community, Avtec is a matching gifts employed. Our matching gifts program has benefitted organizations such as the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, America Diabetes Association, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, in addition to many more.
