Software Engineer

To sustain our growth, we seek skilled software developers to join our Engineering division. You will work closely with our staff on our product development and support efforts in the design and development of telecommunications software. Responsibilities include:

• Designing user interface and development
• Assisting with, and proposing solutions for requirements and designs
• Software implementation and testing
• Interfacing with the in-house Engineering staff on design, production, and testing issues
• Assisting internal development teams with system testing and troubleshooting.

Position requires a BS degree in technical field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or related IT degrees) and at least three to five years of experience. Candidates must have demonstrated knowledge in C++ (HTML, JavaScript, ActionScript, Python, and SNMP a plus). Experience in Windows, Linux, and Unix is strongly preferred. Candidates with satellite telemetry and commanding protocol knowledge will be highly considered.

Deputy Product/Project Manager

We are looking for a deputy product/ project manager who has the right technical and business background to join CVG-Avtec’s telemetry products team in developing innovative solutions to meet our customer requirements. The ideal candidate is well-rounded and understands the full product development lifecycle and is capable of implementing and delivering major functionality, as well as deploying and maintaining production systems.

Our Telemetry Products team is a strategic technology group that incubates new business ideas and delivers engineering solutions critical to the success of our global partners. We are creative thinkers who thrive in our fast-paced, market-driven environment. We are looking for self-motivated individuals to solidify CVG-Avtec's partnerships across a variety of telemetry products that includes Receivers and Front-end Processors.

Job Description:

• Be an expert in telemetry processing and telemetry product architecture
• Providing pre-sales support for telemetry products such as demonstrations and technical proposals
• Keeping track of market trends
• Interfacing with the in-house Engineering staff on design, production, and testing issues
• Providing training on telemetry products
• Managing telemetry product deliveries
• Providing guidance to technical support with product troubleshooting for Avtec's telemetry products
• May be required to perform equipment installation, configuration, and testing at customer sites. Candidates must have the ability to travel to customer sites

Requirements:

• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related technical degree, MS a plus, with at least 8 years of professional experience.
• Seasoned in Business Development, Technical Sales, Product and Project Management
• Satellite Communication Systems knowledge required; Ground Station Systems knowledge a plus
• Understanding of networks and protocols
• Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of hardware and software processes
• High energy, self-motivated, detail-oriented, analytical
• Due to contractual requirements, must be a US Citizen
